Organizations Working for Children

Excerpt from the sermon “Where Have all the Children Gone?”

Rev. Margo McKenna-Brower

So, what can we do to continue to improve the condition and treatment of children around the world, as well as those within our own country?

We can choose to financially support an organization fighting for the rights of children, we can speak out, we can vote, we can become and remain aware. There are so many organizations that are working to change the world into a more just and safe place for children, and we have the opportunity to become involved in any one of these.

Two influential organizations are UNICEF, the world’s largest and most influential group, and Global Action for Children (GAC). There are also many other organizations, both local and global. We have placed on the Chalice web site a list of organizations that are working to improve the condition of children around the world. At that same page you’ll also find more information regarding UNICEF and GAC.

Changes are already occurring as a result of the efforts of organizations that are committed to keeping us from asking, “Where Have All the Children Gone?”
