Doctors Without Borders/MSF USA – The Sudan
Kapoeta, South Sudan is a rural town which returned to peace after 25 years of civil war. There is much food insecurity, in general, but it is particularly acute the three months between when the previous years crop stores run out the the first harvest after the “rainy season” starts.
Christopher Smith, MD spent three months there May-August, establishing both an inpatient and outpatient infant feeding program. He will discuss his experience along with his failures, frustrations and triumphs.
