In its concern over religious extremism is America in danger of falling prey to hatred and Islamophobia – the irrational fear of all things Islamic and all Muslims?

Dr. Hussain, an expert in the study of Islam, and contemporary Muslim societies in North America, will discuss the important role of Islam in American society and how the belief and practice of the vast majority of Muslims differ from that of violent extremists.

Dr. Hussain is the co-editor of World Religions: Western Traditions, and World Religions: Eastern Traditions, textbooks published in 2014 by Oxford University Press.
