99 to 1: How Wealth Inequality Is Wrecking the World
and What We Can Do about It?

“… the primer for the 99 percent movement…”

—Van Jones, President, Rebuild the Dream

From the occupations springing up in cities across the country to the media frenzy surrounding Mitt Romney’s gaffs about poverty, inequality has taken over our national conversation.

The timing is perfect for explaining inequality to the wider audience now hungry for a deeper understanding. It’s also perfect timing to help set an agenda for engaging our communities and preparing us all to take action.

99 to 1: How Wealth Inequality Is Wrecking the World and What We Can Do about It?, answers many of the central questions our time:

  • Who are the 99%?  Who are the 1%?
  • Why is inequality so dangerous – not just for the poor and disadvantaged, but for everyone?
  • What can we all do to build a more equitable, democratic society?

Chuck Collins is a senior scholar at the Institute for Policy Studies (IPS) and directs IPS’s Program on Inequality and the Common Good.  He is also co-founder of Wealth for the Common Good, a network of business leaders, high-income households and partners working together to promote shared prosperity and fair taxation.
