We Need Each Other–
Animal Blessing Service
Sunday morning at 10am
with Rev. Nica Eaton & Sam Dickerson
We have been gifted a beautifully intertwined relationship with our pets and the wider animal community. We rely on one another for comfort, saftey, companionship, and joy. Join us at Chalice for our Animal Blessing as we lift up this miraculous part of our interdependent web of life.
Please send your pet photos to admin@chaliceuu.org with “Pet Service” in the subject area. Be sure to include your name and your pet’s name in the body of the email.
(Due to space restrictions, we kindly ask that our animal friends enjoy the service from the comforts of home. Please bring in pictures or spotlight your beloveds on Zoom!)

Families welcome! The Joy Corner is open! This is an all ages service!
September 15–
Animal Blessing Service – This Sunday is an all ages service. All children are invited to stay in the sanctuary to participate in the service.
Each week we will offer book suggestions for all ages, books that celebrate diverse identities, resist stereotypes, and uplift social justice. Whether you choose to purchase the books, borrow them from a friend, or check them out from your local library, we hope you enjoy these stories featuring characters from a wide range of communities.
Childcare will be offered for a Chalice Circle being held in person at Chalice the 3rd Sunday of the month, noon to 2pm. It’s a perfect opportunity for parents to gather in person knowing their children are with safe and loving people just down the hall. If you’re interested you can register here. Please register no later than September 20.
We need kid art!
Music Man Rick has created an amazing story of aliens visiting Chalice. Really! In order to make this story come to life, we would love drawings of aliens from our children. Create as many drawings as you’d like! We will be collecting this art over the next couple of months. Please bring your artwork to Chalice and leave it in Sam’s mailbox (next to the kitchen). Thank you for helping us create magic!
Happy birthday, Frances Ellen Watkins Harper!

Harper was a strong advocate of the Underground Railroad and worked for women’s suffrage, temperance, and education. She taught a school at Union Seminary in Columbus, Ohio, [where] she lectured widely and kept a grueling schedule. A member of the First Unitarian Church in Philadelphia, Harper was also a poet and popular novelist. In her later years, Harper was an activist for a renewed morality among African-Americans and helped found the National Association of Colored Women.
