Chalice Family Update

September 5, 2024

In September, our theme is the Practice of Invitation

Invitation to Joy:

An Ingathering Celebration!

Sunday morning at 10am

with Rev. Nica Eaton

Our Ingathering is a special annual service inviting us all to return to the home of our souls, our precious Chalice community. Today we offer an invitation to joy, inviting you to experience joy in your lives, in our community, service and celebration. We will hold our annual water ceremony and enjoy a pizza party and ice cream social after service. Join us to bring a smile to your face!

Zoom ID: 209 555 249      Passcode: 2020

Families welcome! The Joy Corner is open!
Children will be led by the Lamp of Love to their RE spaces partway through the service.

September 8–

The Joy of Being Together Again – Welcome to the start of a new church year! Join us for our own Water Ceremony as we celebrate our faith and each other.

Also…

This Sunday, September 8

4th through 8th grade children and youth will participate in Crossing Paths during RE. Through music, stories, games, and discussions we’ll explore a different religion every month.

This month we are exploring Unitarian Universalism!

Sunday, September 8, after the service–

Join our Chalice community for a joyful celebration! Be sure to stop by the RE table to say hi to Sam, win a prize play Plinko, and try guessing at how many M&Ms are in the jar. See you there!

Each week we will offer book suggestions for all ages, books that celebrate diverse identities, resist stereotypes, and uplift social justice. Whether you choose to purchase the books, borrow them from a friend, or check them out from your local library, we hope you enjoy these stories featuring characters from a wide range of communities.

Have you signed your family’s photo release?

In an effort to obtain permissions for photography and videography at Chalice and Chalice events, we are reintroducing our media release form. You can find this form through Breeze. We will also have paper copies available at the RE table during the Ingathering celebration on September 8. The Social Media Team is working on updating our photo policy. You can also view Chalice’s Photographer’s Covenant here. If you have questions, you can contact the Social Media Team or Sam Dickerson.

Did you know?

Childcare will be offered for a Chalice Circle being held in person at Chalice the 3rd Sunday of the month, noon to 2pm. It’s a perfect opportunity for parents to gather in person knowing their children are with safe and loving people just down the hall. If you’re interested you can register here.

THE CHALICE  & NEIGHBORS WEEKEND RETREAT

Friday, September 27 through Sunday, September 29, 2024

We look forward to reuniting with many of our Chalice members and neighbors to enjoy the calm and beautiful mountains with hikes, archery, crafts, connections, and conversations.

Programing for children and youth will also be available!

New and exciting this year, we hope to inspire more families with children to attend this retreat by offering special programming for different age groups. Please notice that we slashed the pricing for youth and children making it more affordable. If you are in need of scholarship assistance, please speak with Annie Barker or Sam Dickerson.

Find more information here and register here.
