The Gift of Presence through Stories of Resilience

Sunday Service at 10 AM
in person (3331 Old Conejo Road, Newbury Park)
or via Zoom
Our survival instincts (and the media) encourage us to focus on the worst of what is going on in the world. There is evidence that we are remarkably resilient beings with the capacity to evolve, heal and renew. Presence is the gift of knowing we are not alone as we journey and the holiday season is filled with human rituals of connection and hope that can help us guide our way. Join Grenda as she shares stories of resilience, hope and presence.

Beyond Cookbooks & Flowers: Why Mother’s Day Matters More Than Ever in this Election Year

Every day women in America created Mother’s Day not simply to honor women, but to unify and empower women to make social justice change. Let’s step back in time together to revisit the origins of Mother’s Day to remember how unstoppable we can be when united behind our determination to create a just and loving world. Along the journey, Grenda will share about her experience going to the Women’s March on Washington and offer a call to action and share ways to make our voices matter in this election year. After services, we will gather in fellowship hall for a light meal steeped in suffragette history!

Every Day is a Chance to Begin Again

New Year brings to mind new beginnings. What if we lived as if every day offered us a chance to start over…to begin again. How might we change our relationship to the passage of time and the mysteries of what the future holds? Join us at our New Year’s Eve service as we explore new beginnings, give thanks (and a toast) for the blessings of 2023 and call in our intentions for 2024.

Of Course We’re Afraid

At the center of resistance is fear. Yet, it makes perfect sense for us to be afraid. After all we are tiny beings standing on a giant blue ball spinning in outer space in the midst of an infinitely expanding universe. If the goal of life is not to be fearless, then what is it?
